58 EastEnders pictures confirm major return twist as a shocking murder is ‘exposed’

Emotions run high in an unmissable EastEnders week with the return of yet another former favourite and a shocking historic murder exposed, as previewed in Metro’s latest picture gallery, featuring 58 pictures.

Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) stages his long-awaited comeback to the Square after being notified by gran Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) of just how bad Linda’s (Kellie Bright) reliance on alcohol has become.

The lawyer is quick to investigate the reason why his mum is seeking solace in the bottom of a bottle, having never seen in her in such a state before, coming to believe that it’s down to Dean Wicks’ (Matt Di Angelo) presence in the Square.

A showdown is on the cards, as confirmed in my pictures, with Johnny squaring up to Dean, who raped Linda a decade ago, but Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) – who previously had a brief flirtation with Johnny – intervenes, preventing Johnny from doing something that he might regret.

Johnny, however, has grown up significantly since his previously stints in the Square, demonstrating that he’s no longer Linda’s gentle ‘sausage’ as he sets about teaching Dean a lesson, with a subsequent confrontation seeing the lawyer throwing a punch.

Will Dean finally get the message that he’s not welcome here?

I certainly hope so. It’s high time he got his comeuppance for what he’s done and Johnny is determined to make this happen.

Callum Highway (Tony Clay) is swift to offer some advice, as is Ben and, after working with Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), the returnee sets up quite a plot – but will he succeed in catching Dean out?

That’s for me to know and you to find out. And speaking of finding things out, George Knight (Colin Salmon) makes a devastating discovery about adoptive dad Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) next week.

The patriarch is baffled when he’s treated like a returning hero by his dad’s mates after he arrives at Eddie and Gloria’s, with Eddie later making a touching speech about his love for his son.

George is overwhelmed but a shocking truth soon comes to light, with Eddie confirmed to be facing trial for a racially motivated murder. What’s more, Eddie wants George to be his character witness!
