EastEnders Stevie’s real reason for return ‘exposed’ – and he’s ‘not dying’
Some EastEnders fans reckon Stevie Mitchell’s reason for returning is that he’s lonely or dying - but other viewers are certain he has a more dramatic and life-changing agenda
EastEnders Stevie Mitchell’s real reason for returning has been “rumbled” — and fans think it’s not because he’s dying or ill.
The character, played by Alan Ford, rocked up to Walford earlier this year. As the estranged dad of Billy (Perry Fenwick), he first appeared on screen in January for the funeral of Aunt Sal (Anna Karen).
However, he was warned by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to stay away after having surrendered Billy into care as a child. From the age of ten, Billy grew up in care after Stevie took sole custody of his brother Charlie. The pair last saw each other off-screen over 25 years ago.
Fast forward to last week, and Stevie turned up to the Vic – much to the shock of son Billy. At first, Billy wanted nothing to do with him, suspicious of his reasons for returning.
