This article contains spoilers for Thursday’s (May 9) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) was left horrified in recent EastEnders scenes when she accidentally uncovered a major cheating scandal.
The Knight family’s world was turned upside down this week when it was revealed that patriarch George (Colin Salmon) was suffering with a serious brain condition, as a result of his years of boxing.
Despite doctors’ warnings that one more blow to the head would be enough to kill him, George remained determined to fight again, given that it was his coping mechanism following the death of adopted mum Gloria.
However, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) wasn’t prepared to see her daughters lose their dad, and made it her mission to try and steer George onto a safer path, by organising for him to see a therapist.
Wanting to do right by his family, George agreed to do the assessment, though halfway through it all became too much for him, leaving Cindy concerned.
When Elaine and the girls found out about her interfering, they warned Cindy to back off, and leave it to them to look after George.
However, as Peter Beale (Thomas Law) pointed out, it isn’t in Cindy’s nature to accept defeat.
When Elaine and Anna (Molly Rainford) were distracted, Cindy snuck back into the pub to speak to George, who soon let slip that he had organised another fight.
Furious Cindy begged him not to fight, but when George refused to budge, she pulled out the big guns and threatened to tell Elaine about their kiss.
Little did she know, Elaine had heard everything…
Armed with the knowledge of George’s betrayal with ex-wife Cindy, what will Elaine do?
