Nish Panesar double crossed his own relative tonight in a shocking twist on EastEnders.

Amid Nugget’s hospital dash, Priya and her ex Ravi – Nish’s son – have reconnected and she is hopeful they might end up back together. However, her plan is soon thwarted by Nugget’s admission that he saw Nish and Priya kissing.

He warned Nish that if he doesn’t stop him from pressuring him into telling the police about who supplied the steroids, he would tell everyone what he saw him and Priya doing. After she decided to back off from the deal, as she believes she has a chance to get back with her ex, Nish takes aim and comes clean about what happened to Ravi – but his side of the story.

Nish told Ravi that Priya was an opportunistic person who jumped on his vulnerabilities and said she’d sleep with him just to get his money. Whilst Priya denied it, Ravi didn’t believe her and he decides to take Avani away from her and to live with him.

With Priya no doubt out for revenge after Nish has ripped her family in two, could this be the end of Nish? Will she blackmail him over what happened – or will she go one step further and kill him off in shocking scenes?

Nish recently returned to Walford with a terminal illness but there has been speculation that Nish might actually be fine – and his whole illness is a ruse. Could this be the case or is he telling the truth?

Speaking about what’s to come and how this Nish is different to play, he said recently: “If he hasn’t got long left, he genuinely wants to reconnect and seek redemption. He was in prison for 20 years and wasn’t there for a substantial part of his children’s lives, and genuinely wants to experience them as a family. Nish is still flawed but there is an argument that there is humanity within us all, it’s possible to find compassion somewhere in there. Seeing him so weak and a shadow of his former self is really fascinating. One reason I came on board wasn’t to just play an out and out villain, I wanted to humanise him in some way.”

Warning bigger scenes were ahead and Nish was “more dangerous” than ever, he added: “It’s up to the viewers what they choose to believe, but if illness is going to consume Nish, then he’s not going to go quietly. Look at what he did when he was of good health – he behaved so recklessly and had no moral compass. There were no limits beforehand, imagine if he knew people are betraying him behind the scenes – he’s got nothing to lose and could be more dangerous than he’s ever been.”
