Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) was left shocked in recent EastEnders scenes when she learnt that son Louie (Jake McNally) had dyscalculia.

Dyscalculia is similar to dyslexia, but results in an individual having difficulty understanding and taking in number-based information.

With Louie having been struggling in maths classes, which led him to not want to go to school, the diagnosis explained a lot for Lauren.

After learning about his son’s diagnosis, Peter Beale (Thomas Law) did some research of his own, which he soon took to Lauren.

While he offered to support her by explaining to Louie why he was finding maths so hard, he ended up leaving Lauren upset with his clumsy comments.

He pointed out that there would have been signs pointing to Louie having dyscalculia, and revealed that he was surprised Lauren hadn’t noticed them earlier.

Lauren was quick to snap, insisting that his digs on her solo-parenting weren’t welcome, before storming off to take Louie to school.

Later, Peter kept to his word by talking to Louie about the tests he would need to undergo, explaining that it would help to assess how much extra help he would need in school.

Louie seemed happy enough, so it was time for Peter to try and make it up to Lauren.

As they apologised to each other, Peter suggested that it might help for them to share the load of parenting a bit more, and asked if he should move in with her.

Later, after some consideration, Lauren agreed to the move, pointing out that it would benefit both Louie and their relationship.

Will the couple cope with living together, or is it set to be a recipe for disaster?
