EastEnders fans believe the soap could be set to welcome back a favourite, amid Kat Slater and Tommy Moon’s abuse storyline.

It was confirmed this week that Kat (Jessie Wallace) and son Tommy will be front and centre of a heartbreaking child to parent storyline this summer. In recent episodes, the youngster has lashed out at his family.

However, in episodes this week, Kat found herself on the receiving end of Tommy’s outburst. In shocking scenes, his hostile behaviour turned violent.

The teenager became aggressive after he tried to play matchmaker between Kat and her ex Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), and failed.

This will have a huge effect on their relationship, as well as a wider effect on the whole Slater-Moon family.

But now, with more drama to come, viewers reckon the heartbreaking new storyline could see the return of none other than Zoe Slater, Kat’s daughter.

Zoe (Michelle Ryan), the youngest Slater sister, rocked up to Albert Square with the rest of the clan including Kat in 2000. And it’s fair to say Zoe had her fair share of big storylines.

But it was in 2001, when the soap created one of its biggest and most iconic twists ever involving the Slater family. In scenes that are still imitated now, Zoe learned the horrifying truth about her parentage.

Zoe found out that big sister Kat was actually her biological mother. It was then revealed that Kat was raped by her uncle Harry when she was 13, with her falling pregnant with Zoe.

The shock news resulted in the famous clip involving Zoe and Kat. Storming through the Square, Zoe told Kat: “You can’t tell me what to do, you ain’t my mother,” to which Kat screamed back: “Yes I am.” The scene has since been dubbed one of the UK’s all-time best moments.

Zoe was last seen in 2005

Sadly, in 2005, Zoe left the square and moved to Ibiza. Since then, she’s not been seen, and is rarely ever mentioned apart from in 2022 when it was revealed Zoe is back living in London.

But now fans are certain that a return is on the cards for Zoe, as the drama is set to escalate for Kat on the soap. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “This Kat and Tommy storyline will end with a Zoe return. I can feel it.”

Someone else said: “I was thinking the same, she comes to slap him daaan! But has she even met Tommy?” A third mused: “Manifest.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
