For the last several months, soap fans have seen Nish’s health go downhill. The Walford villain was told he was dying after being diagnosed with viral myocarditis back in May.

The doctor told Nish that he needs a heart transplant to survive, but the odds of that happening are unlikely.

According to his on-screen son, Nish will run out of time before that happens.

Actor Shiv, 30, has explained that Nish “hasn’t got long left.” This is pushing a lot of guilt onto Vinny, who is currently working to undermine his dad.

Vinny has been furious with his dad for his poor treatment of their family and his mum, Suki, for quite some time.

He faked reconciling with his dad after his health diagnosis, but is really working with his mum to con Nish and take control of the family businesses.

Shiv explained his character’s plans, telling the Daily Star: “What Vinny knows is that the one thing Nish wants more than anything is his children’s love, so that’s his most powerful weapon.

“Whenever he has a sense of doubt, he uses that to manipulate Nish, who is the master manipulator himself. Sometimes, I think Vinny does mask his doubts to protect Suki, but he believes he’s got Nish right where he wants him.”

Shiv added: “I think Vinny does feel a sense of guilt about what he’s doing. Despite everything Nish has done, he’s still Vinny’s dad.

“Nish is dying, and he hasn’t got long left, so that makes his guilt even worse. Vinny has to become a man he didn’t want to be just to get his inheritance.

“With both Nish and Suki, I think that what Vinny wants most is their love and trust.”

Shiv wants to see this storyline play out after Nish’s death

The fact that Vinny is becoming ruthless in his pursuit of revenge upon his father may spell trouble for Ravi (Aaron Thiara).

There has been a growing rivalry between Vinny and Ravi ever since the latter was exposed to be Nish’s secret son in 2022.

With Nish’s death looming, the pair could come to blows over their dad’s inheritance.

“It’s a great conflict and something that me and Aaron Thiara both really wanted to see,” Shiv teased.

“Ravi sees himself as the older brother, but Vinny is a grown man, and he doesn’t like Ravi being the golden boy. The way Vinny sees it, Ravi is doing everything he can to get his hands on Vinny’s inheritance, so he’s a threat.”

He added: “Vinny is trying to manipulate Ravi and play him at his own game.”

Details of Nish’s impending death are currently being kept under wraps, but BBC fans can expect explosive scenes when it’s finally time for the Walford villain to bite the dust.
