The Queen Vic landlady has had a difficult year so far, having fallen back into the clutches of alcoholism after stabbing Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to death on Christmas Day 2024.

After covering up the crime with the help of The Six, Linda has been struggling with her guilt, and the fear of being caught out.

Earlier this year, The Six came up with a plan to frame Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) for Keanu’s murder, and Linda gave police a false statement that put him at the scene of the crime.

However, with Dean soon set to face trial, Linda was under a lot of pressure, and the realisation that she would have stick to her story on the stand set in.

After an attempt to take a deal from Dean was foiled by Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), Linda was horrified to receive a number of poison pen letters, insisting that the sender knew what she’d done.

This sent Linda spiralling even further, and in a bid to get her to her pre-trial meeting, Johnny encouraged her to drink to calm her nerves.

However, when the prosecutor realised she was drunk, she deemed Linda too much of a liability to take the stand, leaving Dean likely to get off.

Following this devastating development, Linda’s life was left hanging in the balance when she choked on her own vomit following a devastating argument with Johnny.

Fortunately, paramedics arrived in time to save her, but Johnny was left heartbroken when she admitted that she was disappointed she had woken up.

In upcoming scenes, Linda has a meeting with her key-worker to discuss going into rehab, with Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) having offered to pay for it.

Will Linda take this huge step towards recovery?
