EastEnders fans have questioned why something appeared to be missing from Bobby Beale’s (Clay Milner Russell) exit.
On Thursday, the long-running character left Walford for a new life in the Cotswolds with adopted mum Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) after his stepmum Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) saw an opportunity to drive him away.
Bobby’s world fell apart earlier in the week when he walked in on his girlfriend – and Cindy’s daughter – Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) kissing Bobby’s best mate Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and subsequently found out she’d had an abortion.
As Bobby’s dad Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) encouraged Freddie to leave the Square, Cindy dripped poison in Bobby’s ear, before they had a showdown at his murdered sister Lucy Beale’s (Hetty Bywater) grave.
His final scene then saw Jane return to Walford to collect him, as Bobby said goodbye to his family and drove off with his mum for a new life.
But as the famous doof-doofs kicked in, fans wondered why he had not been sent off with Juila’s Theme – a special version of the soap’s theme tune, usually reserved for big character exits.
‘I feel Bobby should’ve at least got a Julia’s theme exit,’ one fan posted on X.
‘Bobby should have got a julias theme ? No ?’ another added.
‘No Julia’s theme though as he left – was waiting for the piano to kick in,’ a third wrote.
‘He shoulda got Julia’s theme imo,’ another opined.
Actor Clay Milner Russell quit EastEnders earlier this year after five years as Bobby.
He was the fifth actor to take on the role, taking over when the character was released from young offenders for the murder of his sister Lucy in 2019.
