EastEnders ‘confirms’ Reiss comeuppance as Bianca makes a startling discovery about dead Debbie
Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) puts her plan to bring Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) down in EastEnders next week, after she makes a startling discovery about his late wife Debbie.
As fans know, Reiss smothered his comatose wife to death in her care home bed earlier this year, and his fiancée and Bianca’s sister Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) has since been wrongly locked up for her murder.
Bianca has long had her reservations about her sister’s choice of partner, but last week saw her return to Walford demanding answers about Debbie’s death, correctly suspecting her future brother-in-law killed her.
Taking a new approach, Bianca plays Reiss by trying to get closer to him in order to solicit a confession, and in scenes to air next week, she makes a fake gesture to him.
She then spots Reiss with a mysterious letter, which she later manages to get her hands on when his back is turned, and is shocked by its contents.
As Debbie’s parents Brenda and Hugh Collins (Nichola McAuliffe and Michael Bertenshaw) arrive at No.25 with a solicitor to discuss Debbie’s will with Reiss, she listens in on their conversation and is further stunned when she hears Debbie had made a shocking request in the document.
With her suspicions about Reiss further raised, Bianca engineers a meeting with Brenda and Hugh in the café so she can find out more about his marriage to Debbie.
While Bianca’s best friend Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace) remains concerned about her erratic behaviour as she tries to get justice for Sonia, Bianca has an idea when she spots Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) birdwatching.
Stealing his microphone, Bianca heads back to No. 25 and plies Reiss with booze in the hope of recording a confession from him.
Will Bianca finally get the evidence she so desperately needs to free Sonia and send Reiss down?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 30 September at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
