BBC EastEnders’ Bobby Beale’s exit plot ‘sealed’: Cindy revenge, huge return and sad split
EastEnders will be waving goodbye to Bobby Beale with actor Clay Milner Russell leaving the role on the BBC soap after five years, but just how will he leave Walford?
EastEnders’ Bobby Beale is said to be leaving the BBC soap later this year, with the actor yet to speak out over the news.
But given things are pretty smooth sailing for the character at the moment, what could possibly lead to his exit? Actor Clay Milner Russell has apparently quit the role after five years on the show to pursue new acting roles.
On the Square at the moment Bobby has settled in with the Beales, after a rough few months following the return of his stepmother Cindy Beale. He and his loved ones are on good terms, while he did nearly die in a fire last aumtumn.
He and girlfriend Anna Knight are also loved up despite her sleeping with his pal Freddie Slater last year. So could Anna betray him once more as Freddie returns, or might there be drama with Cindy? Here we look at how Bobby might leave the show…

Shock death?
This is soap land, and EastEnders has not been shy with killing people off. So given the Beales’ history with sudden and tragic deaths, could Bobby be next to lose his life after the deaths of his siblings Lucy and Stephen, not to mention the fake deaths of Cindy and Kathy, in the past?
After all, there’s nothing to suggest an exit is on the cards at the moment, so depending when he leaves it could be sudden. Might Bobby tragically lose his life as history repeats itself?
Family feud or sad split
Perhaps Bobby will fall out with his family once again, after years of friction in the family. Bobby has fallen out with dad Ian, brother Peter and stepmother Cindy over the years, amid Cindy set to possibly have an affair with her ex George Knight.
Perhaps Cindy is still not happy with him dating her daughter Anna given the family link. Either way, Beale relatives have left in the past due to falling out with their family, with Peter doing this previously.
Back to Anna, maybe she will betray him once more or things just won’t work out between them. Could this be the driving factor in Bobby leaving?
New life and a return
Perhaps Bobby will get a happy ending, with no death or drama in sight. Maybe Bobby will get an amazing opportunity away from Walford that is just too good to miss.
Bobby could go travelling or find a job elsewhere, or maybe his ex Dana will return and they will flee together for a new life elsewhere. It’s soap so we can expect chaos, but maybe this time Bobby will leave on good terms, as his last exit saw him arrested for Lucy’s murder.
Cindy revenge
A dramatic exit twist could see Cindy take her revenge on Bobby for killing her daughter Lucy back in 2014. Bobby accidentally killed his older sister during a row, with him serving time in a youth detention centre.
Bobby has transformed his life since then, and when Cindy made her shock comeback last year there was plenty of drama. Cindy had been presumed dead at the time of Lucy’s death, so when she finally came face-to-face with Bobby it was clear she wanted him out the way.
But with the pair finally putting the past behind them, viewers were sure she was biding her time. Could Cindy target Bobby and avenge the death of her daughter after all?
