EastEnders could be saying goodbye to Harvey Monroe after the truth about Maya was exposed.

Maya arrived in what seemed to be a loneliness storyline for Harvey (Ross Boatman) as he struggled with losing his friends Rocky and Mitch, with one heading to prison and the other fleeing Walford and moving to Spain. The pair bonded over their love for football team Tottenham Hotspurs. However, it was soon confirmed that Maya was hiding a big secret.

This week, we learned that Maya is the mother of a victim of Harvey’s son. Harvey was actually the one to give him a false alibi and ensure he didn’t get sent down for what he did.

On tonight’s episode of EastEnders, Jean feared Harvey was about to confess to an affair with Maya but when he revealed who she really was, she was left stunned. Discovering Maya’s true identity, she was horrified and things continued to get worse when Harvey explained Maya’s connection to Aaron and that Harvey had given him a false alibi.

Harvey later told Jean he needed to confess to the false alibi – but could this lead to an exit for Harvey because if he comes clean, he could end up in prison? Whilst later scenes confirm Harvey will keep his involvement a secret, could his guilt get the better of him?

Ross joined the soap three years ago as the dad of Dana, and he later struck up a romance with Jean Slater. Speaking about his arrival in Albert Square, Ross said at the time: “Some actors long for all the glamour of the Hollywood hills. Others dream about the bright lights of London’s West End. All I ever wanted was jellied eels, Albert Square and cheeky pint at The Queen Vic. Words can hardly express how happy and excited I am to be here at last. I absolutely love the show and can’t wait to get started. I feel truly blessed.”

Harvey was also front and centre of a big storyline leading up to the Christmas murder, when he urged Rocky to tell the truth about the fact he was involved in the arson attack on the café as he needed the money for his gambling debts.
