EastEnders villain Dean Wicks was arrested for Keanu Taylor’s murder on Thursday but fans have spotted a “problem” for real killer Linda Carter.

Only recently, Sharon Watts found herself being quizzed by police over her late fiancé Keanu’s death, as his body was found last week. Fans will recall that Keanu was murdered at Christmas by Linda when she killed him with a meat thermometer while trying to protect Sharon.

The Six, including Sharon, Linda, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale and Denise Fox, then covered up the crime and their parts in it. Keanu’s corpse was buried under the floor of the café, while the women told the police that Keanu had fled and was on the run after attacking Nish Panesar.

This lie and his true fate has recently been exposed after his body was found at the café last week. Sharon has found herself as number one suspect until The Six came up with a cunning plan to frame Dean.

Soap fans will recall that rapist Dean has made Linda’s life a misery since his return last year and has recently been messing with his daughter Jade’s medication, who has undergone a life-saving lung transplant surgery amid her cystic fibrosis battle, in order to stop her from moving to Pakistan with her mother Shabnam.

After learning Dean was planning on leaving Walford immediately for America with Jade, Stacey headed to his flat with the murder weapon, which she successfully planted and he obliviously touched, putting his DNA all over the thermometer. However, The Six’s plan was almost ruined when Linda, who wanted to hand herself in, headed to the police station despite being warned not to.

It looked as though Linda was going to hand herself in but instead she delivered a damning witness statement about evil rapist Dean and when the police later searched his flat, they found the murder weapon. An oblivious Dean was later arrested in Walford in front of The Six and his confused daughter, who The Six supported. Later, Dean insisted he was innocent and Linda was framing him as the police pointed out all the evidence against him.

While it currently looks as though The Six’s plan has worked and Dean could be charged with Keanu’s murder, some viewers pointed out a potential issue. Fans will recall that over Easter, Linda was horrified to see her own oblivious mother Elaine Peacock using the meat thermometer aka the murder weapon for their roast lamb dinner. Elaine revealed she found it under Linda’s bed and had given it a good clean before using it for their dinner.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers pointed out that Elaine’s DNA could be all over the murder weapon, which will create a flaw in their plan to frame Dean and could mean Elaine becoming a suspect or worse jailed. One person said: “One little detail that’s been neglected – the murder has been wiped clean as Elaine used that meat thermometer at her Easter dinner. So Elaine may get the blame as her DNA will be on it/someone will notice that it’s missing. @bbceastenders #Eastenders.”

Elsewhere, a different soap watcher added: “One thing that puzzles me is: the murder weapon. Elaine’s had her fingerprints all over it and cleaned it as she used it at her Easter Dinner, won’t her DNA be on it too? #Eastenders @bbceastenders.”
