BBC EastEnders fans fear Whitney Dean death twist after ‘clue’ in emotional trailer

EastEnders fans believe there’s a clue regarding Whitney Dean’s fate on the BBC soap, ahead of her exit.

A new teaser trailer sees actress Shona McGarty looking back at her 16 years on the show, as she prepares to leave after more than a decade in the role. From Whitney’s arrival to her sexual abuse storyline and her doomed wedding, the actress watches screens surrounding her, playing her biggest moments.

The clip teases whether Whitney will get her happy ending, or if more heartache is on the way. Some fans watching the clip thought there were clues to her fate, amid speculation she will be killed off.

While Shona revealed the door was being kept open for her for a future return, fans are worried she will die given all the bad luck she’s had over the years. Some fans noted her wearing a white suit, and wondered if this was a clue.

Others questioned if the clip was of Shona or if she was in character as Whitney, and if it was Whitney’s life flashing before her eyes. This left some fans theorising that this was a big hint Whitney would lose her life.

Taking to Instagram under the video, one fan posted: “Wearing all white… no baby bump… reminiscent over her life’s memories. Yup. She’s getting killed off.” Another agreed: “I don’t know if she will happy ending form the looks off things that.”

A third fan said: “Knowing her, she will get killed off as a surprise exit,” as a fourth agreed: “You can’t kill her off.” A further comment read: “Pleeeeeease just give the girl a happy ending.”

Whitney’s exit date and storyline is yet to be confirmed, while we know she has finished filming. It is thought the character will leave in a matter of weeks, while spoilers for next week reveal the pregnant character goes into labour.

She is yet to find out about her fiancé Zack Hudson cheated on her with her best friend Lauren Branning, as their wedding looms. So will this discovery be what leads to her fleeing Walford for good?
