BBC EastEnders fans point out Jack and Stacey’s blunder as they make risky affair ‘mistake’

EastEnders fans were quick to point out Jack Branning and Stacey Slater’s blunder on Monday night’s episode.

Soap fans will recall that the two characters enjoyed a drunken fling before Christmas with Jack’s partner, Denise Fox, hitting out at Stacey on several occasions after discovering the betrayal. Despite the two putting an end to things, it was clear there was still a spark between the two characters.

Last week, Jack found himself growing closer to Stacey after a court ruling regarding their granddaughter, Charli Branning Slater, and her guardianship. Meanwhile, at the same time, Denise was left crumbling over the fallout of the Christmas attack and subsequent murder of Keanu Taylor to which she stormed out of the court, leaving Jack and Stacey to get close.

Later, unbeknownst to their families who were in the next room, Jack and Stacey shared a passionate kiss in her kitchen before ending up in bed together. In a cruel twist, at the same time, Denise was left at home, crying in bed, with her step-daughter, Amy Mitchell [Jack’s daughter] comforting her.

Since the scenes, Jack and Stacey have continued their affair with Monday night’s episode showing Jack waking up at Stacey’s after spending the night together again, where they shared a steamy kiss in the hall. Soap watchers were left confused as to how no one noticed Jack in the house, especially as Jean Slater left the house seconds before Jack appeared.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Unrealistic that a house of Slaters size wouldn’t know about stacey and jack”, a different account put: “There’s no way that jack was able to sneak out even ONCE without one of the 3,000 people who live there noticing, nevermind twice #Eastenders” while another fan wrote: “Jack sneaking out is a tad daft as how can Stacey have kids that don’t burst into her bedroom every morning? #Eastenders.”

Elsewhere, one soap watcher said: “You can’t convince me that in a house FULL of people, that nobody can hear jack in the house”, a different account put: “You seriously expect us all to believe that no one saw or heard Jack in a packed rented house” while another added: “How they getting away with a house full of people.”
