EastEnders fans have rumbled a huge character return after spotting a clue tonight.

As Ravi invited his ex Priya – who its clear he still has feelings for – to have a meal with her new love interest Martin at Walford East, the pair seemed to hit it off. As they sat down for dinner, Priya and Martin chatted about their lives and he explained more about how he was keeping things in his family and discussed none other than David Wicks.

David Wicks is quite connected to the Square and is the son of Pat Evans and Pete Beale and the half-brother of Ian Beale. He is also the half brother of Simon Wicks and father of Bianca Jackson, Joe Wicks and Karen Wicks.

He first appeared on the BBC soap back in 1993, when he attended his father’s funeral after Pete died in a car crash just two weeks earlier. A few weeks later, he showed up to be with his mother Pat as she last saw him when he was just 17-years-old.

David disappeared back in 1996 but later returned for the death of his mum Pat, who ended up dying in David’s arms. David decided he had no choice but to leave to New Zealand following his mother’s funeral in a bid to escape Derek Branning.

Noticing the mention tonight, fans were keen for David to make a return to the BBC soap. One wrote: “Yet another David mention today from Martin this time! Can he hurry up and come back already?!?!” whilst another, who was watching the classic episodes of the show, added: “Yes. I’ve been watching episodes from the 90s recently…so much David Wicks.”

It wouldn’t be completely impossible for David to make a return, as the soap has aired some huge comebacks recently. Cindy Beale returned last year, with fans having been told she had died. However, she was actually in witness protection and had been married to George Knight under the alias of Rose Knight, before running away and reuniting with Ian Beale.

Elsewhere, there has been some other big returns including a brief comeback for Big Mo Harris, played by Laila Morse, who will make a limited return to the show as part of the return storyline for Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier).
