BBC EastEnders fans spot blunder in Whitney’s final storyline ahead of exit

EastEnders fans have pointed out an error in Whitney Dean's final storyline on the BBC soap after taking young Britney under her wing

EastEnders fans have spotted a huge blunder in Whitney Dean’s final storyline.

We know Whitney will be departing Walford after actress Shona McGarty quit her role on the BBC soap. Her exact exit storyline is yet to be revealed but we do know that her unofficial fostering of young Britney is part of her exit on the show.

Amid a new storyline, which has seen Britney diagnosed with Usher Syndrome, Keeley has been making appearances in Walford. However, her arrival has left fans puzzled as Britney’s mum has seemed to make multiple trips to Albert Square from her home in Milton Keynes despite all the troubles she has had with money owing to her drug addiction.

One fan wrote: “How does Keeley just keep materialising in Walford. It’s such a plot oversight. She’s supposed to be a junkie with no financial stability but she is somehow, very quickly, travelling from Milton Keynes to Walford, East London – just like that? How is she getting there? Cab? train? Tardis? Just made me giggle the way they keep manifesting her presence. They’ll be like we need to get Keeley here and bam she’s there lol,” whilst a second quipped: “Keeley can materialise at the drop of a hat but Zack couldn’t possibly leave Milton Keynes for 5 whole weeks to go back to work in Walford.”

Shona has now finished filming for the BBC soap, and has admitted it was a “really difficult decision” to leave.

Explaining why she wanted to go, she said: “It was a really difficult decision, because it’s all I’ve ever known. I pretty much grew up on the Square, so I feel like I’m leaving home. But I had to put on my big girl pants and be quite brave, because life is so short, and you feel that more and more as you get older. There are other opportunities and areas of the industry I want to explore before I get too old! All things come to an end and this is the new chapter of my life. So although it was a big decision, once I’d made it, I was quite resolute that this was something I had to do. I mean, 16 years is amazing. I’ve had a really good run and Whitney needs a break.”
