EastEnders fans were left stunned on Thursday’s BBC iPlayer episode, which will air on Friday.

Due to the FA Cup Football, the hit BBC One soap has undergone a major schedule shake-up this week, meaning EastEnders didn’t air Tuesday or Wednesday night. However, the episodes were available on BBC iPlayer and they will now air tonight (Thursday) and in a double bill on Friday. Warning – this article contains spoilers from the iPlayer episodes.

This week has centred on Nish Panesar seeking revenge on the Slaters. Soap fans will recall that over the festive period, The Six – made up of Denise Fox, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts and Kathy Beale – grouped to cover up a murder. During the explosive episode, Suki’s abusive husband Nish tried to stop her from leaving him for lover Eve Unwin as he got aggressive. The Six stepped in, where Denise whacked him over the head with a Champagne bottle.

After thinking he was dead, he was able to be revived but during the dramatic scenes, Sharon’s jilted groom Keanu showed up and attempted to take her son, Albie, where he started strangling Sharon to which Linda stabbed him. So far, The Six have covered up the murder by hiding Keanu’s body in the abandoned café following the fire, pretending Keanu attacked Nish before going on the run.

On Tuesday’s BBC iPlayer episode, which will air on Thursday, Kat Slater continued to play Nish, who was unaware she knew all about his true motivations to take her and her estranged husband Phil Mitchell’s money. However, after tricking dodgy divorce lawyer Roger Peel, who works for Nish, Kat was rumbled by Priya who was secretly listening to her plan.

In nail-biting scenes later on the episode, Kat headed to No 41 to see Nish but it was soon clear that Nish was aware of Kat’s plan as he sneakily locked the door before pouring her a glass of wine. As the two characters had an awkward chat, Kat received a panicked call from Suki telling her that Nish knows everything.

Kat then had to fend off an attack from Nish and managed to escape, where she ran to Stacey, Eve and Suki, who all protected her. The foursome then warned Nish off with Kat and Stacey slinging insults at him, which left Nish embarrassed as he headed back inside. In retaliation, Nish decided to give DC Whisson a call regarding the events of Christmas, where he lied and said Stacey attacked him.

On Wednesday’s BBC iPlayer episode, which will air on Friday, Stacey was taken to the police station for questioning, where she made a desperate plea to Jack Branning, who she is having an affair with, to help clear her name. Later, Stacey was released without charge but she may have landed The Six in huge trouble after making two mistakes.

While sitting in his car, a confused Jack asked Stacey: “What did you mean back there when you said you were glad the girls didn’t have to come in and remember their stories? It’s an odd thing to say, ain’t it?” to which a panicked Stacey pointed out she meant statements.

Things went from bad to worse when Jack demanded the truth to which he realised that Stacey had called the mental health team last week, resulting in his partner Denise being sectioned. Jack accused Stacey of getting Denise out of the way due to their affair and that their romance had caused Denise to have a breakdown.

This resulted in Stacey exploding, as she exclaimed: “Denise attacked Nish!” before backtracking with: “Well, she was going to and then someone stopped her…” After realising she had made a mistake, Stacey tried to cover the bombshell by claiming it was Keanu who “got there first” and not Denise.

However, despite attempting to cover up the bombshell, Jack didn’t fall for Stacey’s lies as she begged: “What are you going to do? Are you going to turn us in?” to which the episode ends. Thursday’s iPlayer episode, which will air on Friday, started with a worried Stacey sitting in her garden as she panicked about letting slip, as well as Nish.

Yet soap watchers were left stunned over the garden scenes, arguing it was a rare “never-before-seen” moment for the soap as viewers never get to see residents’ gardens. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Main takeaway from this weeks eastenders- Stacey has a back garden. #EastEnders”, a different account put: “They have NEVER showed a garden in Eastenders looooool #EastEnders”, another wrote: “Omg!!! After 39 years we finally see one of the houses gardens not only that it has grass #Eastenders” while a different fan added: “Sorry where the f**k has that garden come from #EastEnders.”
