BBC EastEnders’ Johnny Carter ‘exposed’ as fans ‘work out’ plan to set up character – but not Dean

EastEnders’ Johnny Carter may be plotting against one or more characters, if viewers and even one Walford resident are correct.

A new theory has put Johnny into the spotlight as being the person who has stolen the murder weapon used to kill Keanu Taylor at Christmas. There was chaos in a recent episode, as his killer Linda Carter and the other women who witnessed the crime panicked when they realised the weapon was gone.

Linda had killed Keanu as she tried to stop him from strangling Sharon Watts. There were six women at the scene of the crime, with them making a pact to conceal the murder.

They buried Keanu’s corpse under the floor of the café, and have tried their best to hide their actions and Keanu’s true fate ever since. But after Linda delayed getting rid of the weapon, a big problem has emerged as it’s now missing.

Johnny had just been told about his mum’s actions and the fact she still had the meat thermometer in her bedroom, and so he went to find it to get rid of it. But he soon told her and the others it had gone missing, and someone – whether it be one of them or a mystery person – now had it.

Throughout the latest episode Johnny was explaining to his mum how he believed Denise Fox likely had the weapon as a means of threatening the others, if not setting one of them up. He then suggested any of The Six could have it as a means of stopping them turning on each other.

His main theory was that Denise was going to report the crime to the police, and use the weapon to expose Linda. Linda said it didn’t make sense as if this was the case, she would have been to the police station already but Johnny was convinced.

But Denise had a very different idea, and she believed Johnny was in fact the one behind it all and he could be trying to frame her. Amid her mental health spiralling and her hallucinating and seeing Keanu everywhere, Denise is now fearful that Johnny is about to frame her to protect Linda.

Denise isn’t the only one though who thinks this, with viewers too thinking Johnny has the weapon and is lying to his mum and the others. They think he will set up another character to protect Linda, while one theory suggested he is actually trying to make Linda fall apart.

Taking to X, one viewer said: “Johnny has taken that ‘weapon’ and is going to make his mum go crazy. Watch!!!” Another said: “I have a feeling johnny is going to try frame denise for keanu’s murder,” as a third added: “Is it just me or has Johnny clearly taken it so he can hold it against all of them as a measure so they can’t blame Linda?”

A further comment read: “It’s obvious Johnny has took the weapon, and gonna make it so that blame is put on anyone but his mum.” Another fan wrote: “Denise is making sense with Johnny trying to set her up with the weapon. She may be on to something…”
