EastEnders’ Linda Carter could find herself exposed in upcoming scenes as Callum Highway investigates the truth about Keanu Taylor’s murder.

Soap watchers will recall that Keanu was stabbed to death on Christmas Day with a meat thermometer by Linda who was trying to protect pal Sharon Watts, as Keanu began strangling her. The Six, including Sharon, Linda, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale and Denise Fox, then covered up the crime and their parts in it.

Keanu’s corpse was buried under the floor of the café, while the women told the police that Keanu had fled and was on the run after attacking Nish Panesar. This lie and his true fate was finally exposed earlier this year when his corpse was found at the café with the woman framing evil Dean Wicks for the crime.

In upcoming scenes next week, Linda could find herself exposed by an old family friend as Callum’s suspicions are piqued by a comment made by Linda. Later, it’s not just Callum suspicious as the latter tells Phil Mitchell details about his earlier conversation with Sharon. Heading over to Sharon’s, Phil continues to press his ex but she is adamant there is nothing to tell.

Realising he may have to resort to a different tactic to learn the truth, Phil heads to The Vic to ask Linda himself, but Sharon stops him in his tracks. Later, Sharon is spooked when she bumps into Callum in the café and he announces that he’s speaking to the detectives, who investigated Keanu’s murder, about the case.

It’s not long until Sharon quickly heads to The Vic to see Johnny, Linda and Jack to discuss a way to keep Callum off the scent and feedback what she knows so far. Wanting to help The Six, Jack speaks to Callum and tries to deter him professionally but Johnny isn’t convinced it’s enough and later uses Ben Mitchell’s absence to try and convince him otherwise.

It comes as Linda actress Kellie Bright has revealed all on the “painful” scenes ahead as her character continues to struggle without her late husband Mick Carter. As Keanu’s funeral arrives, spoilers reveal his killer Linda continues to drink heavily to block out what is going on in her life.

Linda is also struggling because Father’s Day is approaching, a day she finds hard without her ex Mick. Mick is presumed dead and lost and sea after an accident a few years back, and his young son Ollie keeps asking about his dad. It all gets too much for Linda as she misses Mick, and she is trying to get through Keanu’s funeral knowing what she did.

Speaking about the scenes ahead, Kellie said: “I think any day that reminds her of Mick is a difficult day. She’s still got a very young son who remembers his dad, and wants to talk about his dad, and wants to make his dad a father’s day card and in addition to that, she’s still drinking so her ability to cope with those emotional things is on the floor.

“She’s not in a strong mental place so she is finding it hard. She’s finding it hard to answer Ollie’s questions and I don’t think she wants to think about it. Everything for her is too painful at the minute so she just wants to shut it away.”
