BBC EastEnders’ Lorraine Stanley shows off five stone weight loss on holiday
EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley looked slimmer than ever when she posted snaps of her enjoying a girls holiday in Malta as she proudly showed off her 5st weight-loss
Wearing a pair of high-waisted denim shorts teamed with a white vest top, EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley looked incredible as she showed off a slim new look.
The 47 year old actress looked happier than ever as she posed with friends including Linda Lusardi while soaking up the sunshine in Malta. Lorraine became a household name when she starred in the BBC soap playing loud-mouthed Karen Taylor. In her holiday snap, Lorraine is seen smiling for the camera as she kicked one leg in the air. And within minutes of posting the snap, she was inundated with praise from fans who felt she looked “incredible.”
One person said: “You look incredible.” Another said: “You look incredible girl.” And a third said: “Welcome to Malta lovely lady. Hope you enjoyed your stay xxxxx.” Back in March, the star who left EastEnders last year, revealed that she had embarked on a weight-loss journey and had lost a whopping five stone. Taking to social media, she shared a picture of herself looking trim and captioned the post: “What a difference a year makes. Five stone down, feeling good, clean living, healthy choices, new me, healthy mummy.”

She then thanked her personal trainer for helping her achieve her goal. In August last year, Lorraine confirmed rumours that she was leaving the soap after six years. The TV favourite admitted that she will miss the show when she leaves and went on to thank her fans for their continual support. She wrote on her social media account; “Hey everyone! I’m so grateful for all of your lovely messages this past week. Thank you to @daranlittle for creating the Taylors and to the BBC for giving me the opportunity to play such a fabulous character.”
She added: “@bbceastenders I’ll be sad to be saying goodbye to Karen Taylor and will miss all the cast and crew at Eastenders. However I’m looking forward to my next chapter and excited about being a jobbing Actor again & starting new ventures. Again your kind words of support have been amazing!!! I’m going to miss my Taylor/Baker famalam @clair_norris @danny_walters & Roger @matthew_james_morrison ….Much love xxx.”
At the time, fans speculated over Karen’s exit from the soap, with some saying that she could die as that would be the only way for her to leave her children behind. And again, at the time a source said:”It’s always a tough call for bosses when deciding which characters will leave the soap, but it has to be done to keep storylines fresh and create new arcs for characters. Lorraine had a great run on the soap and was a real scene stealer with her comic timing and she has certainly made her mark with fans.”
Away from EastEnders, Lorraine announced that she had got engaged to her long-term partner Mark Perez, last summer.
