BBC EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy’s five-word response as she addresses Sonia Fowler danger

EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy has addressed fan speculation that Sonia Fowler could be in danger.

Only recently on the BBC One soap, Reiss Colwell has embarked on another IVF attempt with girlfriend Sonia after the nurse found out he had been using his comatose wife Debbie Colwell’s money to fund the treatment. Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson uncovered the truth as she tracked Reiss down and found him by Debbie’s bedside in hospital after discovering he had tried to scam Kat Slater and Jay Brown in vain to gather the funds necessary for his other half.

BBC One fans will recall that Reiss eventually admitted to Sonia what he had been up to and after initial reluctance, the nurse was then convinced by Kathy Beale to give her beau some credit and the couple agreed to give things another shot… with the rest of Debbie’s money in hand. EastEnders viewers have been left wary of Reiss, speculating that Debbie’s coma could have been the result of his own actions.

As Sonia and Reiss continue to plan their future as parents, viewers have taken to X, otherwise known as Twitter, convinced that Debbie could soon wake up and that Sonia could be in danger with Reiss. One person said: “So after seeing Reiss display of aggression tonight, do we think maybe he had something to do with why Debbie is in a coma? Is Sonia in danger? #Eastenders”, a different account put: “I feel like reiss will hurt sonia even more” while another added: “Don’t trust Reiss. I think he is the cause of his wife being in coma, and told Sonia a pack of lies. #EastEnders.”

Appearing on Thursday’s Lorraine, Sonia actress Natalie, 41, addressed the storyline, saying: “What’s Sonia getting herself into?” to which host, Lorraine Kelly, said: “I’ve just got a feeling she’s going to wake up and it’s all going to go… but don’t tell me anything!” Responding to the fan theory and Lorraine’s concerns, Natalie said in a five-word response: “I won’t say a word!”

While soap fans will have to wait before finding out if Debbie will ever wake up, Bianca made a devastating decision this Wednesday after a brutal row with her sister Sonia in The Queen Vic. Both sisters came head to head with Sonia accusing Bianca of letting her money secret slip to Kat Slater, which then prompted Bianca to shout the odds in the boozer and reveal to everybody what the nurse was up to.

A tearful Bianca was booted out of the pub by Elaine Peacock and headed outside, straight into her van, as she drove off and out of Albert Square. Could this be the last viewers see of her?
