BBC EastEnders’ Pastor Clayton’s true motive with Yolande ‘sealed’ – murder shock and terrifying Lucas link

Pastor Clayton has got the attention of EastEnders viewers for all the wrong reasons.

He arrived back in late 2023 when we were introduced to the character through Yolande. Initially, both fans and other characters on the show were convinced the Pastor and Yolande were going to end up an item.

However, heartbreaking scenes have since confirmed that Pastor Clayton has nasty intentions with Yolande as he sexually assaulted her during a recent episode, and then proceeded to gaslight her and fume at her for calling him out on his actions.

There have been many theories about the Pastor’s true intentions, with some convinced of a connection to Lucas Johnson, who recently returned amid Denise Fox’s mental health storyline as she struggled with the events of Christmas

Murder twist

Pastor Clayton has been a mystery to most since his arrival, but some viewers are convinced he could turn to murder in a terrifying twist for both Yolande and Denzel, who are currently not in the Pastor’s favour.

One fan mused: “Convinced Pastor Clayton is going to turn into a serial killer #EastEnders.” Others have suggested that the Pastor could turn to blackmail or ruin Yolande’s reputation after all that had happened. Taking to Twitter, the fan read: “I think he’ll either blackmail her into doing what he wants or publicly trash her reputation. Probably the latter.”

Connection to Lucas

Other fans are convinced that there could be a connection between Pastor Clayton and Lucas. He recently returned when his ex wife Denise Fox visited him in prison to ask for his advice after she grew even more guilty over what happened to Keanu at Christmas.

Given both Lucas and Pastor Clayton are religious, some fans are convinced there could be a link between them and they believe it explains why Lucas recently made two returns, in quick succession, to the BBC One soap.

“That pastor clayton is strange…i think he’s going to be a villain but i don’t know completely what will happen. related to lucas ? will he hurt yolande or denise?? like idk #EastEnders,” one fan suggested, whilst a second added: “#EastEnders I still think there is a twist coming with Pastor Clayton . What secrets does he hide? & what are his real intentions with Yolande? What if he’s related to Lucas ( Denise’s husband in prison) There is still a lot to come with this story I’m worried for Yolande.”

“I’ve got the ominous feeling Pastor Clayton is linked to Lucas , dear old dad perhaps? #EastEnders,” a third wrote, whilst a fourth added: “Good one! Especially because they are both quite religious and makes sense why he had some recent cameos repeating bible versus to Denise.” A fourth suggested: “Imagine if he’s connected to Lucas somehow, he’s a dodgy pastor who was once inside and that’s where he met Lucas and influenced him to become religious. Or maybe not..”
