BBC EastEnders’ Sharon Watts arrested after new Keanu evidence as Bernie takes revenge

EastEnders’ Sharon Watts was arrested for Keanu Taylor’s murder in the latest episode, as Keanu’s sister Bernadette Taylor vowed to get revenge for his death.

Bernie declared Sharon was going to pay as she claimed to Walford residents that Sharon was Keanu’s killer, after his body was discovered this week. After Keanu was said to be on the run for an attack on Nish Panesar, the truth was finally confirmed this week as detectives identified the body found in the café as being Keanu.

Bernie was devastated having believed her sibling had run off on Christmas Day, hours after they fell out over his lies. But she realised he never left Walford the day he seemingly fled, while six women including Sharon knew that already, with two further characters also now knowing his real fate.

Sharon was at the scene of the crime this Christmas when her pal Linda Carter stabbed Keanu with a meat thermometer. Linda was trying to save Sharon’s life, as Keanu attacked her.

In the fallout, the women along with Suki Panesar, Denise Fox, Kathy Beale and Stacey Slater buried the corpse under the café floor, and made a pact never to tell a soul. Since then Johnny Carter and Jack Branning have both found out the truth and have said nothing.

Some new evidence came to light leading to Sharon’s arrest, and while they did not confirm what it was it seemed to be Bernie that gave it to them. The character had listened back to a voice message Keanu sent to their mother Karen Taylor the day he was killed, where he spoke of going to find his son Albie.

In the message he claimed Sharon was messing with his head and that he was leaving Walford that evening to travel to her. But despite his vow to head to see his mum, Bernie realised he never made it and someone killed him.

Bernie’s cousin Felix urged Bernadette to give the message to the police, with him suspicious over Sharon and her link to the death. Karen herself had accused Sharon of having some involvement and the other women too, after she’d found out about Nish and then Keanu apparently threatening them all at the pub before he fled.

It seems Bernie has been swayed, as she vowed to make Sharon pay after handing the message over to the officers investigating the murder. The detectives soon escorted Sharon away in front of everyone, putting her in a police car and driving off.

As Sharon screamed out that she was innocent and had not killed Keanu, the rest of The Six watched on and said nothing. Bernie, meanwhile, turned to Sharon as she begged for help, and told her Karen was right about her, and she was gonna pay for what she had done – so will Sharon manage to get out of this one?
