BBC EastEnders viewers rumble who could bring Pastor Clayton down ahead of harrowing sexual assault storyline
EastEnders fans are waiting on the edge of their seats as Yolande Trueman remains within Pastor Clayton's grasp - but they already know who could bring him comeuppance.
EastEnders fans are convinced Patrick Trueman will take Pastor Clayton down to avenge his wife Yolande in a new and upcoming twist.
The fan favourite portrayed by Rudolph Walker made it clear he wasn’t a fan of the pastor during Tuesday’s (April 16, 2024) instalment of the BBC One drama, when the newcomer was invited to share a meal at his table.
The moment could have been friendly but once he settled into his seat at No.20, where the whole family was gathered for Patrick’s return, Pastor Clayton (played by The Office star Howard Saddler) thought it was a brilliant idea to bring up Denise Fox’s recovery from her recent descent into psychosis. An awkward silence ensued as Patrick glared at his guest from across the table.
Later on in the instalment, Pastor Clayton geared up to leave the family to their evening and prepare his fundraiser with Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), while Patrick volunteered to help. The pastor refused, insisting on how good of a team he and her have been, only to leave Patrick’s blood boiling as he added: “I wish we’d met years ago.”

Creepy Pastor Clayton’s words left Patrick clearly suspicious about his motives but rang ominously for viewers of the London-based drama as his wife Yolande is due for a gut-wrenching sexual assault storyline.
Viewers swarmed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing their theories about what Patrick could do to avenge Yolande with one jokingly penning: “Nah this Pastor and Yolande story is too exd. Patrick wants to swing him.” Another echoed: “#Patrick is going to thump the pervy #Pastor for trying to covet thy Wife!”, while a third fan agreed: “Like the fact that Patrick ain’t no fool, and has worked out that The Pastor is worming his way in.”
“Pastor making himself at home Patrick knows there’s something off about him”, a fourth commented. Elsewhere, another issued Pastor Clayton with a warning: “Patrick would kill Pastor Clayton if he knew what he was about to do to Yolande.”
Patrick only recently returned to Walford after taking a break to catch up with his son. Upon his return, tensions were in the air as he found Yolande in the company of a jealous and seething Pastor Clayton.
He then received another nasty surprise when he was informed of Jack Branning’s affair and the resulting breakdown of his marriage with Denise. The long-standing Walford was clearly opposed to their separation – but what will he do when Yolande is harmed?
Yolande, who reappeared in the Square last year, will be at the centre of an hour-long instalment of EastEnders aired on Wednesday (April 17, 2024) as Pastor Clayton will assault her at a fundraiser and her struggle is likely to affect their marriage. What’s ahead for her?
