BBC EastEnders viewers slam soap favourite as they spot ‘secret killer’ in Albert Square
Reiss Colwell came clean about using his wife Debbie's money to fund Sonia's IVF treatment and EastEnders fans slammed the nurse as they predicted a sickening twist ahead.
Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell made the decision to take the rest of Debbie’s money for their IVF treatment and EastEnders viewers were furious.
The nurse portrayed by Natalie Cassidy has been desperate to have a baby with her other half and after believing she was pregnant, she was devastated to find out she had never actually conceived an embryo.
This only made her more determined to have her dream family with the accountant and she urged him to gather the funds necessary for another round of IVF. Unbeknownst to her, however, Reiss (Jonny Freeman) had been stealing the money from his comatose wife Debbie.
Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) made sure to let the cat out of the bag after finding Reiss chatting to his unconscious wife during Monday’s trip to Albert Square and after a pep talk from Kathy Beale, Sonia agreed to take the rest of Debbie’s money for her IVF this Tuesday (June 11).

Meanwhile, BBC One viewers at home couldn’t believe what they heard as Sonia and Reiss embraced outside The Vic, making the promise to build the family of their dreams at Debbie’s expense.
“Why is Sonia so obsessed with having a baby? This time last year she was happy w just Bex”, one disappointed soap fan complained over on X, in reference to Sonia’s daughter Bex Fowler, whom she gave birth to as a teenager in a hard-hitting teen pregnancy storyline. “Sonia is actually a right dumb a**”, another simply stated.
Another seethed: “Sonia is a slimy slimy **. Tryna have a baby with another woman’s husband on using her f****** money. Reiss needs to go to jail idk why but someone lock him up. Hope they don’t succeed with the baby thing, they don’t deserve it.”
One viewer then fumed: “Sooooo Sonia has not paid a penny for all the IVF? And she was pushing Reece to spend more? She’s p****** me off.” Elsewhere, a handful of TV watchers predicted a sickening twist ahead for Sonia as they still expect Reiss to be bad news. I feel like Reiss will hurt Sonia even more. she’s seeing a nerdy nice guy instead of the cool guy & thinks he will love her better when he’s just a creep! but there’s no more secrets so I don’t know what he’s going to do wrong”, a fan commented.
Another theory emerged on social media as fans couldn’t shake the feeling that Reiss may have had something to do with his wife Debbie’s coma. “Reiss has Bianca’s card marked – but, oh boy, there’s murderous shades in his manner sometimes, isn’t there [maybe Debbie’s coma wasn’t an accident…]”, one commented.
“Imagine if Reiss physically lashed out at Debbie out of anger and that’s why she’s in her coma”, another echoed, which prompted another soap fan to echo: “Reiss I think might have a sinister side. He comes across as a weak nerd. But something is definitely off about the character. I wonder if Reiss harmed the wife?”
Another took things further: “I still think Sonia and Reiss are going to do something really sick like using Debbie’s womb for their embryo.” But while some fans of the London-based program are aiming their criticism at Sonia, more fans have become irritated with her sister, Bianca, mostly due to her behaviour since she returned to Albert Square earlier this year for a guest return.
