BBC EastEnders Whitney Dean’s baby’s name revealed – but there’s a sad twist

EastEnders is set for explosive scenes next week ahead of Whitney Dean’s exit.

In upcoming scenes, Whitney and Zack Hudson’s wedding arrives with a cheating scandal exposed. Lauren Branning’s fling with pal Whitney’s partner Zack finally comes to light in explosive fashion.

As Whitney and Zack prepare to wed following the birth of their baby daughter, Britney ends up blurting out that Zack and Lauren slept together. The moment happened a few weeks back with them keen to keep it a secret, while Whitney’s stepmother Bianca Jackson knew the truth.

Next week, the shocking secret is exposed in true soap fashion but will Whitney believe Britney’s claims? We know that Whitney is leaving the BBC soap some point really soon, so could this be what leads to her exit?

The rest of the week remains pretty secretive spoiler wise with the BBC One soap issuing an update on Whitney and Zack’s baby daughter as the newborn’s name is revealed as Dolly.

Later in the week, following the wedding bombshell, Whitney visits Zack after she remembers they have to register Dolly’s birth but there’s a sad twist when Peach’s baby loss certificate arrives in the post.

Soap watchers will recall that last year Whitney and Zack were devastated when they learned their unborn baby daughter had Edwards’ syndrome. Whitney gave birth to daughter Peach after beginning the process of a termination, 18 weeks into the pregnancy.

It comes as EastEnders fans will be saying goodbye to Whitney soon as actress Shona McGarty prepares to bow out of the BBC One soap after 16 years. It was revealed last year that Whitney actress Shona had quit the hit soap and her exit scenes are set to play out very soon.

Shona told The Sun on Sunday at the time: “I have decided to spread my wings and will be leaving EastEnders. I have loved my years in the show. I have been trusted with some incredible storylines and have made amazing friendships — and family — which will endure.”

Talking to Inside Soap magazine further, she said: “It wasn’t an easy decision because I’ve made so many friends. I’ve seen people come and go, and meanwhile, Whitney has been one of the longest-standing characters. I’ve had so much fun and done so many storylines, some of which have been sensitive, and I’ve been honoured to be trusted with such heavy stuff, year after year.”

The actress added: “So, I’m going to be sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but it was right decision for me as I want to do other things. After 15 years, I’ve had a pretty good run!”
