EastEnders star Michael Greco, 53, has welcomed his second baby boy into the world with partner Helen Harris, and his name will make fans of the BBC soap feel very nostalgic.

The Beppe Di Marco actor took to Instagram in December 2023 to announce that he was expecting a second child.

Today (June 4), he once again took to social media to share the arrival of baby Gianni, revealing that he was ‘truly grateful’ to have another child.

‘I am truly grateful to be gifted another beautiful, baby boy. The value of life in today’s world, becomes more and more precious, day by day,’ he wrote, next to some adorable pictures.

‘The joys of being a father has made me the man I have become. Nothing in this world is more important than our health and happiness and today I am the happiest man alive. I have another angel at my side.’

Addressing his two-year-old son, Gianluca, Michael added: ‘You have a gorgeous baby brother. Welcome to the world baby Gianni. I love you.’

‘Huge congratulations. Another absolute cutie,’ one person wrote, while another said: ‘Best news ever.’

EastEnders actor Max Bowden, who played Ben Mitchell until earlier this year, also shared his well wishes, writing: ‘Congratulations mate!’

Michael played the role of Beppe from 1998 until 2002, and had a number of memorable storylines during that time.

Police officer turned cab driver Beppe clashed with the Mitchell brothers almost immediately, before fighting for custody of his son, Joe and engaging in romantic relationships with a number of women on the square, including Tiffany Mitchell and Lynne Slater.

Long-time fans of the show may remember that Beppe’s brother was also called Gianni – a sweet coincidence given the name of Michael’s new baby.
