EastEnders airs huge Dean Wicks murder twist

Will Stacey's plan pay off?

EastEnders spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (April 9).

EastEnders has revealed a new twist which could see Dean Wicks go down for Keanu Taylor’s murder.

Dean became unwittingly involved in The Six’s chaos, when Stacey Slater spotted an opportunity to get him out of Walford for good.

The women have been forced to think on their feet following the discovery of Keanu’s body last week and Sharon Watts’ subsequent arrest.

Tuesday’s episode (April 9) saw Johnny tell a devastated Linda about Suki, Kathy and Stacey’s new plan regarding the murder weapon.

Despite Johnny’s adamance that he could sort it and get Sharon out of trouble, Linda spiralled out of control, convinced it was all over.

Sharon, meanwhile, began to lose her patience as she continued to be held at the police station, giving Johnny 24 hours to free her until she revealed all.

As a terrified Linda drank heavily in the barrel store, she started to reevaluate her future after a conversation with George.

When George spoke from the heart about teaching his kids to do the right thing, Linda realised she needed to do the same – starting by handing herself in.

Unaware of Linda’s decision, the rest of the women told a horrified Denise the new plan, before being interrupted by Phil.

Linda then summoned them all to The Vic, where she calmly explained that she knew what was going on but that things needed to change.

Linda insisted that she would have done the same thing in their position, and was planning to hand herself in so that they could stop being dragged into the mess she created.

Johnny was horrified by Linda’s announcement and accused her of not thinking about Ollie and Annie’s best interests in the long-term.

He argued that no one would believe she moved the body on her own, leaving the rest of the women anxious that this could actually make the situation even worse.

As Linda prepared to say a heartbreaking goodbye to Ollie and Annie, Stacey was given an idea after witnessing a run-in between Harvey and Dean on the Square.

Harvey had confronted Dean over his actions regarding Jade, but Dean continued to twist the narrative and blamed Jean for everything.

Stacey and Linda both tried to intervene, but Dean continued to throw around nasty comments and accusations, leaving them all despairing that he was about to leave Walford without punishment.

When Harvey commented that Dean will never face the consequences of his actions, Stacey was given food for thought.

While Kathy tried to delayed Linda handing herself into the police, Stacey headed to Dean’s flat, where she prepares to plant the murder weapon there…

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
