EastEnders star Sam Attwater recently took to social media to reveal that he had taken a trip to hospital with eight-year-old daughter Rosie, who he shares with Dancing On Ice pro Vicky Ogden, after an ice skating accident left her with a head injury.
Posting to his Instagram Stories, he explained how Rosie’s ice skating and gymnastic talents, paired with her impressive flexibility, resulted in her slicing the back of her head with her blade during a skating trick.
‘This is what happens when you do gymnastics and ice skating and are incredibly flexible,’ he wrote.
‘She managed to get the heel of her blade in the back of her head while kicking backwards.’
After a trip to A&E, Sam assured his followers that she was doing well, and praised the hospital staff who cared for her.
‘She’s all good! Thank you for all who messaged and the nurses who looked after her. How amazing is the NHS?’
Sam is best known to EastEnders fans for playing boxer Leon Small in 2010.
Leon arrived at Walford High and had Peter Beale (Thomas Law) assigned as his buddy, but soon caught feelings for his twin sister Lucy.
During his nine month stint on the show, Leon proved to be quite the player, romancing four women in that short time.
Some of his dramatic storylines included discovering the body of Owen Turner buried beneath a tree in the Square, but it was ultimately his cheating that led to his exit.
Following his EastEnders stint, Sam competed on Dancing On Ice in 2011, before returning for the All Stars series in 2014, where he fell in love with skating partner Vicky.
The pair got married shortly after, and have since had two children together.
