EastEnders Cindy affair with resident’s son ‘rumbled’ – and fans are ‘grossed out’
Cindy Beale has caused plenty of drama since her shock return to EastEnders - now fans reckon an affair is on the cards for the blonde bombshell and one of her former lover’s son
EastEnders’ Cindy Beale could be set for a surprise affair with a Walford resident’s son – but fans are not keen.
The character, played by Michelle Collins, made her epic return to the BBC One soap last year after 25 years off screen. Fans will recall that Cindy was supposedly killed off-screen in 1998.
But the fan-favourite never actually died in childbirth, as fans were told, and instead was put into witness protection and given a new identity, Rose Sawyer.
And in 2023, it was revealed that Cindy was actually alive and living in France, with husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). And in another huge twist, it turned out Cindy was the mother of Gina and Anna and ex to George Knight (Colin Salmon) who had just moved to Walford.
Cindy, and Ian, eventually rocked back up to Albert Square and have settled in. But since her comeback, Cindy has caused plenty of drama.
Over in the soap recently, Cindy ended up kissing George – despite him being engaged to Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) who lives with him at The Vic. Since then, Cindy has made it her mission to get him back.
What’s more, George’s estranged son Junior has also rocked up to the Square, causing even more drama for George and the Knights. But now, fans are convinced that Cindy could be set for a shock affair – and it’s not with George.
Over on an EastEnders Reddit thread, one person said: “I think the twist will not be the predictable Cindy × George affair, but her getting with his son (who is the chip off the old block).”
The fan added: “They are already laying the groundwork: dubbing in Cindy saying it was the first time they’d met, making it clear there’s no biological connection. It would be fireworks and a fantastic detonation of the Knights and the Beales, and a classic Cindy moment!”
Someone else added: “honestly want more drama here than just Cindy and George having an affair, so let’s keep Cindy true to form…I wouldn’t put it past her, but would she have had and or, could she have an affair with Junior?”
However, someone else isn’t that keen on the theory. They wrote: “That would be gross and wouldn’t make sense”. Someone else mused: “Now that would just leave lan with nothing. But Cindy cheating on him with George and his son. That would take cheating with an attractive man to whole new level!”
