Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) learns some upsetting news in EastEnders this coming week, and it has the potential to seriously impact George (Colin Salmon).
A few months ago, George’s adoptive parents Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell) and Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) told him he was adopted via a process called child farming.
As the storyline unfolded, George learnt Eddie was facing trial after murdering his biological father Henry Kofi Asare.
After Gloria begged her son to defend his adoptive father in court, she ultimately did the right thing and urged George to stand up in court and tell the truth about vile racist Eddie.
After some advice from Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), George did just that, with Gloria later telling her son how ‘proud’ she is of him.
The situation, however, resulted in Gloria suffering a massive heart attack and being rushed to hospital, where doctors confirmed that the damage to heart was significant.
After Gloria passed away with George by her side, he discovered some more heartbreaking information when Eddie confirmed – from prison – he wouldn’t be welcome at the funeral.
In upcoming episodes, Anna goes against her family’s wishes and speaks to Eddie.
During their conversation, she learns that Gloria’s funeral took place yesterday. Anna is left worrying about breaking the news to George, but how will he react?
Can George cope with this after everything else that’s gone on?
