We love it when an EastEnders icon returns to Albert Square – so when four cast members come back in one week, it’s an absolute treat!
Following episodes that packed one heck of an emotional punch, in which Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) confided in her husband Patrick (Rudolph Walker) that she had been sexually assaulted, the beloved couple took a break from Walford, understandably.
And it’s also been a while since we saw Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) and her boyfriend Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) since they sailed off on a cruise together, to facilitate beloved star Tameka’s stage role.
So what brings them all back, and what are they facing back home?
Before they left for their time away, Yolande had taken the brave step of reporting Pastor Clayton to the church for what he did to her.
But she is in for an unwelcome development as her story picks up again.
Worried at Levi’s lack of communication, she heads to The Vic to try and gauge his whereabouts from Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams).
Yolande and Patrick are delighted when Chelsea asks them to be Jordan’s godparents, but the moment is short-lived when she also reveals that Levi has left Walford.
This seems to indicate that he has done little towards looking into her case or Clayton, leaving Yolande fearing that he might get away with it.
Meanwhile, Kim and Howie are back to chaos, as the teens once again run riot.
Denzel and Nugget invite friends from the gym back to No.20 for a party, but Kim and Howie walk in as the event gets out of hand, and are incandescent at what is going on – with them later rebuking Yolande for leaving Denzel to his own devices.
Chelsea ends up covering for Denzel over the party but she is watching him closely – and becomes suspicious by his behaviour when he leaves a family gathering.
Viewers know that he is over-exercising and taking steroids, but is Chelsea close to uncovering the truth?
Later, Kim also has some catching up to do with Denise (Diane Parish), who opens up about the breakdown she suffered.
However, as Kim does some digging, Denise is a closed book when it comes to divulging what triggered it…
