Wedding bells are ringing in EastEnders next week but, in typical Walford fashion, there’s heartbreak and devastation aplenty for the bride and groom, as confirmed in my new picture gallery.
The BBC One soap is gearing up to wave off Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), who is leaving the show after 16 years, but before her departure she’s intending on walking down the aisle to wed Zack Hudson (James Farrar).
Happiness, however, isn’t exactly a regular occurrence in Albert Square and therefore you can expect chaos!
Britney Wainwright (Lola Campbell), you see, knows all about Zack’s one night stand with Lauren and thus she contemplates whether or not to tell the bride-to-be as the big day arrives.
Zack urges the 12-year-old to keep shtum, overcome with guilt about what he’s done. Whitney walks down the aisle with baby Dolly, who she welcomed earlier this week, with Britney joining them at the alter as the couple say their vows.
But just as Whitney’s happy ever after is within touching distance, everything falls apart, with Britney dropping the infidelity bombshell, which leaves Whitney reeling.
Is this the end for Whitney and Zack?
And will this betrayal prove to be the catalyst in Whitney’s departure from the Square?
You’ll just have to wait and see but the good news is that it’s not just goodbyes on the cards but also some hellos as Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and big Mo Harris (Laila Morse) return to the Square.
Freddie’s happiness at being back home is short-lived as he realises that there’s no room for him at Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie), meaning he’ll have to live at No. 31.
The popular character, however, has a trick up his sleeve!
It’s a week not to be missed!
