Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) has finally admitted in front of a courtroom full of people that he raped Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders.

The start of Dean’s trial ended yesterday with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) being held in contempt of court after shouting at Dean’s lawyer and the Judge.

As she was led away, Linda – Keanu’s real killer – had arrived ready to give her statement. However, just as she spotted Sharon in the middle of some police officers, she panicked and ran away.

In the latest episode of the BBC One soap, Sharon was in a police cell while the remaining members of The Six were desperately trying to find Linda.

Outside, after Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) mentioned Annie and Ollie to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), an idea sparked in his mind. He pretended that Annie and Ollie were in hospital and when Linda was informed, of course she rushed from her hotel room to check on her children.

When she arrived Linda was taken aback to find her friends there instead. Eventually though, this intervention from The Six was enough to push Linda to go to court.

For the majority of Linda’s cross-examination, she did well. She was confident in what she had to say, and even covered her back when Dean’s lawyer (Neil Roberts) tried to catch her out.

Linda was tested, however, when topic of conversation turned to her drinking. The risk was there for her to fall apart but again, she held her own. She told the court that she’s been sober for a little while now – and was also sober on Christmas Day, hoping the jury would trust what she was saying.

During a small break, Dean started to panic about his future. Finn, the lawyer, told him he should control his temper, but Dean started to believe he was about to be sent away for a crime he didn’t commit.

Back in court, Dean grew increasingly frustrated. He was convinced The Six were working together to conspire against him but when the lawyer asked why the murder weapon was in his flat, he paused.

With nothing to lose, Dean told the court that he thinks the murder weapon was planted because he raped Linda, and this is her getting revenge.

The court was in complete shock. After denying it for years, this is the first time ever Dean has confessed to the rape in front of a crowd of people. He’s set himself up for time behind bars – but whether he will go to prison for Keanu’s murder as well remains to be seen.

Because of Dean’s huge outburst, the Judge put court in recess.

The situation has changed again and it’s only day 2. What will The Six’s future look like by the end of the week?
