EastEnders enthusiasts think they’ve figured out Elaine Peacock’s latest love interest.
Last year, Harriet Thorpe arrived on the BBC One drama as Linda Knight’s mother, Elaine. She made a grand entrance back into Walford as the new owner of the Vic, alongside her fiance George and his children Gina and Anna. But it wasn’t long before Elaine and George’s relationship hit rocky waters. In an unexpected plot twist, it turned out that George’s former flame was none other than Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins), who was presumed dead since 1998.
Cindy, along with Ian Beale, made a surprise return to Walford, with Cindy eager to reignite the spark with George. Following a family dispute, George and Cindy shared a kiss. Elaine, already suspicious and envious of Cindy, was devastated when she discovered their betrayal. Despite George’s confession and pleas for forgiveness, Elaine was unforgiving and showed him the door.

Although they’ve managed to keep things amicable recently for their family’s sake, fans are speculating about Elaine’s next romantic venture. The Daily Star reports a Reddit thread saw fans exchange predictions, with one suggesting: “If Elaine were back on the market, then who in the Square would she be best suited for as a new couple?” One fan commented: “OK don’t shoot me down here but… Phil… Current Phil has become a more mellowed character, has become a good friend to those around him and can also be rather hilarious when in the right situation.”

They continued: “Phil has also been a great AA mentor to Linda and clearly cares about her so he would make a good stepfather in any case.” Another viewer chimed in: “… I thought I’d be in the minority with this one. I feel like they would look great together, plus with Phil being Linda’s sponsor, it could foster a healthier outcome for Linda AND Elaine.” Another fan wrote: “That could work I think .. Elaine is kinda his type .. glam .. takes no crap .. x.”
However, not everyone was on board with this theory, as one person pointed out: “He’s good friends with George so she should be off limits. But this is EE so who knows.”
