EastEnders fans are making a devastating realisation about the 40th anniversary
https://twitter.com/i/status/1840760136840744991Distraught EastEnders viewers have realised that the iconic and incomparable Lacey Turner won’t be appearing as her alter-ego Stacey Slater in the upcoming 40th anniversary celebrations.
Lacey, 36, announced yesterday that she was expecting her third child.
Over on Instagram, she shared the exciting news that her children Dusty and Trilby will soon be welcoming their sibling to the world.
Her adorable social media post featured Lacey, partner Matt, Dusty and Trilby on a beach holding some baby scan pictures.
Alongside the snaps, Lacey wrote: ‘Aren’t we lucky…’.
Just hours later, she was spotted alongside her co-stars Kellie Bright, Letitia Dean, Diane Pariah, Gillian Taylforth and Balvinder Sopal showing off her baby bump at the Inside Soap Awards.
Whilst fans were abuzz with excitement over the news, one has noted that it means Stacey will likely have to be written out to facilitate Lacey’s maternity leave – therefore missing out on the big birthday bash in February.
One shared a video of former character Dr. May Wright (Amanda Drew) lighting a cigarette and causing a gas explosion, writing: ‘The fact Stacey won’t be there for the 40th anniversary.’
Whilst plans are firmly under wraps for now, we do know that a live episode will be the centrepiece.
As you’ll remember, the 25th live revealed that Stacey was Archie Mitchell’s (Larry Lamb) murderer, whilst Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) tumbled off The Vic roof.
Another viewer responded: ‘Won’t they be filming the 40th Anniversay around December time?? she might still be there if she’s not too far along.’
