EastEnders fans were rather confused when they watched Reiss give a eulogy at Keanu’s funeral.
Emotional scenes played out on Friday night (June 14) as Walford residents said their goodbyes to the mechanic. Keanu was stabbed to death with a meat thermometer by Linda Carter at the Queen Vic on Christmas Day.
The murder has haunted Linda and the rest of The Six women ever since. However, Reiss put himself in the spotlight on Friday when he read a eulogy in tribute to Keanu, whom he worked with at Taylor’s Autos.
Fans were taken aback by it all as they didn’t realise Reiss and Keanu were that close. Viewers on X, formerly Twitter, suggested they hadn’t seen the pair interact enough to warrant such a tribute from Sonia’s partner.
“First Reiss is Keanu’s best man & now he’s giving his eulogy. He worked at the garage for all of 5 minutes, they barely even knew each other before that”. Another added: “Tbf we didnt get to see much of keanus and reiss’ friendship #Eastenders.”
Keanu was manager at the garage, and Reiss was the shop’s accountant. Fans have also spotted what they think is a sinister twist with Reiss after watching him steal money from his wife Debbie, who is in a coma.
He’s grown desperate for cash as he’s failing to fund his and Sonia’s IVF treatment. The pair have been trying to conceive but thus far have failed.
Some believe that “psycho” Reiss was the one who put Debbie in the coma. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: “Is Reiss the reason Debbie is in a coma? Is he showing his true colours? #EastEnders.”
Another said: “That’s probably why Debbie’s in a coma; she planned on leaving Reiss #Eastenders.” A third added: “We all know Debbie is going to wake up and Reiss is the reason that she’s in a coma; because underneath that quivering wreck is a complete and utter Psycho!! Come on EE make it happen! Love a nut job on the square.”
