Thankfully, the pair were able to get out in time and reach the hospital so Whitney could give birth in the right environment.

After a dramatic labour – and the memory of giving birth to her late daughter Peach fresh in her mind – Whitney welcomed a healthy baby girl with.

Fiance Zack Hudson arrived just as Whitney finished and his daughter gave her first cry.

Once mother and baby were cleaned up, Whitney wanted a family picture with Zack, step-mum Bianca and foster daughter Britney.

She then revealed her baby’s name, saying: “Welcome to the world, our perfect world…Miss Dolly Dean Hudson.”

But as the EastEnders ‘doof doofs’ played, viewers were quick to criticise Whitney’s choice of name.

Taking to a fan forum, one wrote: “What a stupid name for a baby.”

Another added: “Awful name. Soon as that kid is no longer a baby or Toddler, the name won’t suit at all and will be an bully me sign essentially.

“Dolly is basically calling her a toy of a baby or ragdoll. Wont suit a child, teen, young adult at all.

“I actually prefer Peach. Whitney has awful names for babies.”

Meanwhile a third commented: “I agree it was a bizarre choice. But, so was Peach so I guess it is on brand for them.

“Kinda wish they maybe explained why they had chosen that though just to make it make some sort of sense.”

However the happy family moment could be ruined quite quickly after Britney overheard Zack and Lauren Branning discussing their night of passion a few weeks ago.

The pair swore to take what they did to the grave as they stood in the hospital corridor, before Britney appeared, signalling she had heard every word.

Will she tell Whitney everything and ruin her dream of having a happy family?

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
