Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) has made quite the impression on EastEnders viewers.

Arriving when the Albert Square residents said goodbye to Dot (June Brown) in 2022, Reiss is a shy, socially-awkward fellow who wears checkered shirts and would absolutely prefer to spend the evening drinking tea and reading a book rather than getting drunk in the pub.

And we love him for it.

While we’re used to how Reiss presents himself, fans recently discovered a picture of Jonny not in character – and he looks completely different!

‘Very handsome, should have kept him like that!’, one person joked on social media.

‘What a difference…shocker!’, another added.

Jonny is known for his roles in Silent Witness, Holby City and Top Boy, also having a long-running role in CBBC’s M.I High.

The show followed teenagers at school, recruited and trained to become agents.

Jonny’s character, Frank London, worked as a caretaker at the school, undercover from his real job – the spy handler.

Since his arrival to Walford, Reiss has started a relationship with Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and decided they would like to try for a baby through IVF, due to Reiss being unable to conceive.

Reiss is a character who likes to speak his mind and often finds himself in trouble with Sonia, so it’s certainly been a journey full of ups and downs. It’s been an emotional battle going through IVF, but it was all worth it in the end, as Sonia revealed in April of this year that she is pregnant.

Elsewhere, Reiss got himself in further bother with a member of Sonia’s family due to once again putting his foot in it.

After Whitney (Shona McGarty) met a young girl called Britney (Lola Campbell) in Milton Keynes, she took her back to Albert Square and spun a story about being her legal guardian.

Following the discovery Britney has Usher Syndrome, Whit met with Britney’s teacher to discuss her diagnosis, but things took a worrying turn when Reiss let slip that Whitney isn’t Britney’s mum.

He’ll learn one day, probably.
