After his divorce from ex-wife Kat, Phil Mitchell of EastEnders is now unmarried. However, fans believe they know who he will be sleeping with next, and they are not happy about it.
Fans of EastEnders are furious because they think they know who Phil Mitchell will fall in love with next.
Steve McFadden, the iconic character from soap operas, was recently divorced from his wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) following the revelation of his one-night affair with Emma Harding. As fans will remember, Lola’s mother blackmailed Phil after he had slapped her with a kiss last year.
However, everything was made public last month by Kat, who was devastated to have to leave her house with Phil, and her sister Sam (Kim Medcalf). But since then, she’s managed to get back on her feet.
To the dismay of the people living in Albert Square and the audience, she has started dating Nish Panesar. After his abusive relationship with his ex-partner Suki ended, the soap opera villain found himself unmarried.
Since then, Phil has made it apparent that he disapproves of Kat and Nish’s relationship, even threatening to harm her if he ever did. Fans, however, are now certain that he will hook up with his ex-wife Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
The couple, who are parents to a kid named Ben, had many moments on Tuesday’s (February 6) show that gave rise to rumors on the internet that they could reconcile.
It’s also reasonable to argue that supporters are unhappy about their possible reunion. One user expressed their wish on X, the old name for Twitter, that Phil and Kathy would not get back together.
“Why do I get the feeling they’re setting up a Phil x Kathy reunion?” wondered a second. CLENSHAW, exclaimed a third. YOU DON’T. Take a risk. REUNITE PHIL AND KATHY.”
As one viewer put it, “They are not SERIOUSLY going to get Kathy and Phil back together, are they?” another viewer agreed. One respondent said, “I won’t be watching it anymore if they do.”
When Phil and Kathy first dated in 1993, their relationship was, to put it mildly, difficult from the beginning. In the renowned episode dubbed “Shindogate,” Phil’s liaison with Sharon Watts came to light. In spite of the controversy, Kathy married Phil and became pregnant with Ben.
Following Ben’s birth, Phil became angry and resorted to alcohol, which led Kathy to leave him. Even though their marriage ended in divorce, Kathy turned to Phil for support when she was made to pretend to be dead. She was able to visit Walford again in 2015 thanks to Phil’s assistance.
