EastEnders fans ‘work out’ who Eddie murdered as George makes devastating discovery
EastEnders' George Knight made the horrifying discovery that his father Eddie is on trial for a racial-provoked murder and fans believe they know exactly who he killed
EastEnders fans have “worked out” who Eddie killed.
During Monday’s episode (February 12) of the BBC soap, George (Colin Salmon) returned to the estate he grew up in for the first time in years for Eddie’s award celebration. It was clear Eddie was up to something as he warned his friends to be on their best behaviour.
Arriving with Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford), George was stunned at the warm reception he received from his dad and friends. George was in further shock when Eddie made a heartfelt speech about him, calling him his “pride and joy”.
Later, George confided in Elaine that he may have misread his father’s behaviour and that perhaps Eddie has always loved him. But as the night drew to a close, George made a shocking discovery.
“It was years ago. Historical they call it,” Gerald explained. “Some fella. Murdered. That’s why he needs a character witness from you.”
Gerald added: “Why would he kill a coloured lad when his own son’s black?” Fans immediately raced to social media to speculate who Eddie killed, and they all came to the same conclusion.
One wrote: “Eddie is up for a racial murder of years past – so that’s why he needs George on side of a sudden! Damn. [Like, could this have been George’s BIOLOGICAL father at that??]”
A second agreed: “Omg, what if that guy was George’s real dad?” Another penned: “What’s the betting that the guy that was murdered was George’s biological dad?! Ooohhh, nice twist!”
A fourth echoed: “George knows Eddie’s secret as we’ve discovered that Eddie killed a man in a racially aggravated attack 20 years ago. Now it looks like Eddie wants a reference – but was the man that Eddie killed George’s biological father?”
Someone else declared: “I have a feeling he killed George dad in a racist attack.” Another speculated: “Was it George’s biological father that Eddie killed?”
