Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) was left overjoyed in EastEnders as she revealed to Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) that she’s pregnant.

The much-loved Walford stalwart, as viewers know, has been undergoing IVF treatment in the hopes of having another baby.

There has been upset for her in recent months, with her latest round of IVF having been unsuccessful, which came as a devastating blow, especially after she found out that Whitney Dean (Shona McCarty) was pregnant and had kept such information from her.

But Monday’s (April 22) edition of the BBC One soap saw Sonia decide to take a pregnancy test and, in emotional scenes, she arrived in the Queen Vic to inform Reiss that they are going to have a baby.

Not crying, I swear.

That wasn’t the only good news in store in the Square, with the day in question also being that of the London Marathon, which Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) ran in memory of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).

The two nailed the assignment and, afterwards, Billy (Perry Fenwick) made an effort to propose to Honey but, to his shock, he lost the engagement ring!

Little did he know, however, that Honey was actually intending on popping the question to him and, in emotional scenes, she got down on one knee and asked him to marry her – in scenes which were later televised in the Queen Vic.

Again, absolutely not crying.

The marathon scenes were actually filmed at the London Marathon, with stars Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick running it in honour of their own chosen charities, though filmed a number of scenes as Honey and Jay, which were slotted into Monday’s (April 22) edition of the BBC One soap.

Talk about making history!

EastEnders continues Tuesday April 22 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
