EastEnders legend Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has had to work hard to rebuild a relationship with daughters Gina and Anna Knight (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) after walking out on them ten years ago.

Things have been up and down for them over the past eight months, but they’re set to hit rock bottom again in the coming days when the girls realise that Cindy has been hiding another major secret.

Recently, George Knight (Colin Salmon) has been struggling in the aftermath of mum Gloria’s death, and has taken to underground boxing in order to release his pent up emotions – something that only Cindy and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) are aware of.

In upcoming scenes, things get even worse when George learns from Gina and Anna that Eddie Knight has held Gloria’s funeral without telling him, and he gets in contact with Rufus to arrange another fight.

Unaware of George’s coping mechanism, Gina and Anna decide to hold a memorial for Gloria to help him grieve, and they soon reach out to their half-brother Junior to join them.

On the day of the memorial, Gina and Anna are disappointed when Junior is a no show, while George nurses injuries from his fight the previous night.

Things take a worrying turn when George gets dizzy before almost collapsing, leaving Cindy and Phil insisting that he goes to hospital.

When the doctors give him a CAT scan, they discover that he has a brain condition linked to repeated blows to the head, and reveal to George that one bad knock could be enough to kill him.

Fiancé Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and the girls are absolutely furious to discover that he’s been fighting, and even more upset to learn that Cindy knew.

Back in Walford, Cindy watches as Rufus approaches George to give him last night’s cash, before asking if he wants to fight again…

The next day, Cindy remains upset that Gina and Anna won’t talk to her after keeping George’s boxing secret, but eventually they agree to meet her for lunch.

In a bid to win them over, Cindy promises to convince George not to fight again, and later suggests that he try online therapy.

Initially, George rejects the proposal, but eventually Cindy manages to talk him round.

Despite the warnings from doctors, George later rings Rufus to arrange another fight, but when he tells Cindy what he is planning to do, she gives him a serious ultimatum…
