EastEnders ‘lines-up’ new ‘whodunit’ murder plot for 40th anniversary and names the victim

EastEnders viewers are predicting Nish Panesar will be killed off in a new ‘whodunit’ murder plot that will coincide with the soaps 40th anniversary in February 2025.

In recent episodes of the BBC One soap, ex-convict Nish (Navin Chowdhry) has been making enemies around the Square. First off, the businessman was left feeling bitter after his wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) left him for Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).

In retaliation to his wife’s affair, Nish reeled in his son Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) to help kill Eve but he couldn’t go through with it. Nish was then smacked around the head with a champagne bottle by Denise Fox (Diane Parish) on Christmas Day, but he’s yet to learn the truth about his violent assault.

Nish also hit his son Ravi on Christmas Day during a separate altercation. But in Nish’s latest scam, he romanced Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) in a ploy to get his hands on her businesses following her separation from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Kat caught wind of Nish’s plan and escaped an attack by him before a dramatic showdown alongside Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki and Eve. Nish was left humiliated by Stacey and Kat’s insults, so he consequently told the police it was Stacey that had attacked him.

Nish has also struck up a friendship with the mother of his grandchildren Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) – but it appears their relationship has also hit the rocks. As Nish finds himself entwined with drama with his own family and the locals, will someone eventually kill him off?

EastEnders fans have been taking to X (formerly Twitter) to predict Nish will be killed as part of the long-running soaps big 40th anniversary storyline, which will air next year. One fan wrote: “Would you like to see a ‘Whodunnit’ for the 40th Anniversary Episode? #Eastenders. Who killed Nish Panesar.”

A second explained: “Can totally see a whodunit coming in regards to Nish. The more it goes on the more enemies he’s actually making day by day. It’s not just the six anymore… Phil – Protecting Kat, Jack – Protecting Stacey, Ravi, Eve – soon the whole square will have a motive to kill him.”

A third stated: “#Whodunit #Nish #ByeBye #Please #EastEnders”. Another added: “I really hope Nish doesn’t die on the lead up to the 40th anniversary simply because he’s such a good actor and his talent shouldn’t go to waste like that.”
