EastEnders Pastor Clayton death ‘sealed’ as fans ‘rumble’ killer – and it’s not Patrick
Pastor Clayton's days in Albert Square are numbered according to EastEnders fans as they are convinced an unlikely resident will get revenge for Yolande Trueman
EastEnders fans are convinced Pastor Calyton will be killed by an unexpected Walford resident.
The character, played by Howard Saddler, rocked up to Albert Sqaure in December last year as the local church leader. At first, fans thought he and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) would strike up some sort of romance.
After meeting at the community centre, rumours started to swirl recently that Yolande and the Pastor’s relationship was more than just friends. Yolande was forced to shut down the gossip and lashed out at ringleader Agatha.
Afterwards, The Pastor assured her that there wasn’t anything to worry about but things took a stomach-churning turn when Clayton pulled Yolande in for an embrace. Things even took a further dark turn when he sexually assaulted her in recent scenes.
Patrick tried to discuss with Yolande what happened and do his best to support her, but she locked herself in the bathroom. Patrick’s anger kicked in and he headed out to confront Pastor Clayton but Yolande followed him and begged him to stop him.
As they returned back inside, discussions turned to what happened and Yolande decided she would report Pastor Clayton to the church officials and insisted she didn’t want to go to the police. With Yolande revealing all, Patrick then tried to cheer her up by playing a song through the speakers.
He explained that Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) had taught him how to connect his phone to the Bluetooth speakers so he hoped it would work. With Patrick trying to remember how to connect his phone to the speakers, some fans have suggested that he may have accidentally connected it to Denzel’s speakers or phone.
As Yolande revealed the details of the assault to Patrick, this would mean that Denzel would’ve also overheard the conversation. Taking to Reddit, one fan penned: “I think this is what’s going to happen, Denzel finds out and goes full attack possibly killing him, the whole gym addiction is going on too long now and getting boring. It would also make more sense for Denzel as well to be in the underground of fight club with other youths rather than George.” Another user agreed: “Yeah, Pastor Clayton is going to get what’s coming to him.”
A third person said: “They made a point of having Denzel say something the other day about how he couldn’t protect Yolande from those kids in the alley. They’ll definitely have him try and “redeem” himself and it’ll go horribly wrong.” Another wrote: “Denzel will actually save her this time.” But did Denzel overhear Yolande reveal the details of the assault? Will he get revenge on Pastor Clayton and be responsible for his downfall?
