EASTENDERS has revealed the villain behind Linda Carter’s poison pen letters – and it’s absolutely hysterical.

The Queen Vic landlady – who is played by actress Kellie Bright in the BBC soap – has been pushed to breaking point by anonymous notes hinting that they know she killed Keanu Taylor.

Fan speculation went into overdrive with suggestions like Shirley Carter and Aunt Babe – but the truth is a lot more mundane.

In tonight’s episode, after giving her statement about Fraser and Dean at the station, Johnny brought a sober Linda home.

But walking into the Vic, Linda found another letter warning her that her time was running out – and she lost it.

Walking into the bar she began shouting at all the patrons, demanding to know who was sending the letters.

Grabbing an envelope off Bernie, she tried to rip it open demanding she tell her what she knew and put her out of her misery.

Bernie looked shaken and insisted she didn’t know what Linda was talking about as Elaine dragged her daughter away.

But later it became clear that Bernie had played a blinder – and that she is the poison pen letter.

However she has help – as she arrived in prison to get it from Dean.

He told her: “We’re getting to her, she’s close to breaking point.

“The fact that she was going to take the deal tells you everything you need to know.

“She was willing to sacrifice justice for Keanu just to satisfy her own deluded vendetta against me.

“It sounds like she put on quite the show at the Vic. Do they sound the actions of a woman who’s got nothing to hide?

“Keep sending those letters. Ramp up the pressure and she’ll crack. You believe me now, don’t you? Linda knows who really killed your brother.”

“I believe you,” replied Bernie.

“And I’m going to get the truth out of her.”
