As the summer of sport continues, we bring you more bad news if you’re an EastEnders fan but as this is soapland, there’s also a bit of a twist in store too.

If you’re planning on tuning into BBC One this evening to take a trip to Walford, then you will receive quite the surprise as sadly, the show isn’t airing.

As always, we have all the information regarding the show and when it will return to our screens.

So, here’s everything you need to know – including a way you can get around the soap not be broadcasted tonight.

Why isn’t EastEnders on tonight?

Due to coverage of Euro 2024, EastEnders will not be shown on BBC tonight.

The Croatia vs Italy game – which will kick off at 8pm – will air on BBC One while on BBC Two, the match between Albania vs Spain will be shown.

What is happening in EastEnders this week?

It’s a big week for the Mitchells (Picture: BBC)
After money from Lola’s charity fundraiser was stolen, the Mitchells are on a mission to find out who was behind the theft – and most fingers are pointing at Stevie (Alan Ford).
As trouble continues, the storyline will eventually lead to the introduction of three new Mitchells – Teddy (Roland Manookian), Billy’s (Perry Fenwick) secret brother, and his sons Harry (Elijah Holloway) and Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman).

On the upcoming storyline, actor Roland told us: ‘Billy and Phil are there protect the youngest member of their clan. They find out there’s a mysterious man with their boy, so their motive is to find out exactly what is going on.

‘Teddy is a little bit shocked by the impact, and the thought of what’s about to go down, but he does remain calm in the situation to get to the bottom of it. All I can say is there’s going to be some fireworks.’
