EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has revealed the aftermath of Bernie Taylor and Linda Carter’s storyline twist.

Viewers will know that Linda killed Bernie’s brother Keanu in the culmination of The Six storyline over Christmas. The six women have covered their tracks ever since.

In March, the walls began to close in after the discovery of Keanu’s body under the café floor, which saw Sharon get arrested in the aftermath.

This week, Linda was on edge after receiving an anonymous letter that suggested someone knew about the events of Christmas Day.

In scenes set to air on Monday, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13, Linda is due to testify at Dean’s upcoming trial for Keanu’s murder, where she’ll give false evidence.

Ahead of a pre-trial meeting, Linda struggles with her sobriety after receiving more poison pen letters.

At the prison, Dean urges Bernie to send more letters to put pressure on Linda, so she begins sending texts too.

After receiving a text, Linda is rattled to learn that the blackmailer has her number and tells Johnny that she won’t be attending the meeting.

In a desperate bid to calm Linda down, Johnny takes matters into his own hands. What will happen when the prosecutor begins questioning a drunk Linda?

The next day, Linda has been drinking all night, leaving Johnny at a loss for how to help her. Gina tells him to use his legal knowledge to help his mum, before revealing she’ll look after Linda.

Johnny later returns home and has a huge argument with Linda. When he’s calmed down, Johnny returns to find his mum in a life-threatening situation. Have Bernie’s actions risked Linda’s life?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
