EastEnders spoilers: Cindy Jnr ‘return story revealed’ as she gets the shock of her life in death story

EastEnders spoilers follow for Friday’s (February 9) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air on TV tomorrow at 7:30pm.

Residents of Albert Square were left absolutely gobsmacked when Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) seemingly Rose from the dead (see what we did there?) last year, but there is still one EastEnders icon that has no idea she is alive – her daughter, Cindy Jr.

Cindy Jr – or Cindy Williams – left Albert Square in 2015 to start a new life in Germany with Liam Butcher, so missed her mother’s dramatic return.

In recent scenes, Cindy Sr was left upset when ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) made jibes about the fact that her daughter didn’t even know she was alive, which got Cindy thinking.

After sitting down to look at old photos sent over by her sister, Cindy weighed up the possibility of finally meeting the daughter she gave up as a baby, before going into witness protection.

Though Cindy was worried that Cindy Jr wouldn’t like her, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) assured her that she would understand why she acted the way she did.

Cindy attempted to brush the idea of getting to know her daughter aside, as she pointed out that she’d had eight months to get in contact with her, but Ian and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) tried to convince her that now was the right time.

As Peter explained that it wouldn’t be long before Cindy Jr pitched up in Walford, Ian added that she could pay a surprise, flying visit when Cindy asked how likely that would be.

Which has left us all wondering, could Cindy Jr be set to stage a surprise return?

She wouldn’t be the first character to return to the BBC show unannounced, with both Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) and Fatboy (Ricky Norwood) making surprise appearances in the past few months.

Peter eventually managed to convince Cindy to fly with him to Germany to visit Cindy Jr, so could she end up joining them on the way back?

Cindy Jr had always believed her mum had died in childbirth and had previously blamed herself for her death, so we imagine that their first reunion will be a dramatic one.

But will it happen on screen or off? And will Cindy Jr accept her mum with open arms, or will Cindy Sr return broken-hearted?
